What do you think of this story introduction?

You write very well. Your descriptions are excellent, but for an opening paragraph, I suggest you throw in some action as soon as possible. If you want people to keep reading you have to put something at stake and some danger or conflict that will make them wonder what happens next. Though you've started out with an interesting town, it's not going to hold the readers attention for very long, you'll need to throw in a character and put something important at stake. Good luck!!
