I want to have two Christmas trees?

Yes, I know it's early for this question, but here goes: My fiance and I are buying a house together. He has two little kids (12 and 7) and I have a 21 year old. I was never one for putting kid's ornaments on the Christmas tree and my daughter never really cared (I've asked her). I know my fiance likes to put his kid's ornaments on the Christmas tree, but I like a themed tree and don't really want popsicle stick ornaments on there. Do you think it is ok to do two trees? One for the kids' ornaments and one that is more "formal" for the living room? I was thinking of putting the kids' tree in the room where we would be opening presents. My fiance hates the idea...I'm not sure of another way to compromise and would really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!!!
