according to what I have read, the first amendment has been altered on a number of occasions to exclude certain cirstances, i.e. obscenity, although there are those who argue that the amendment should be exclusive since that is how it was created. But the only reason it was created that way was because there are too many different cirstances for the creators to have developed specific legislation for every potential cirstance that may arise. In addition, things were a lot different in the days when the constitution was created, and it was probably created based on this. For instance, there was no television or internet, so it was probably umed that whatever you said would be heard only by those in your vicinity when you said it. But the advent of television and the internet has since made it possible for people all over the world to hear, see, and be influenced by anything that is said/done by others via these medium.
