Questions about getting my medical marijuana card?

Hi I am currently trying to figure out how to get my medical marijuana card, mainly though I am wondering if even am eligible? My reason for the card is that I have had problems with insomnia all of my life. I recently went to a sleep specialist and was prescribed a mild sedative for my insomnia. I took the prescribed dose and fell asleep great.... however when i woke up i was groggy in almost a hung over kind of way. I think it greatly affected my aggressiveness because i yelled at my mom and cussed which i never do normally. So clearly this is not working, I have tried acupuncture and had some results but not enough for me to want to pay every week for it. I have heard that marijuana can help with sleep insomnia so out of desperation i want to try to get my medical marijuana card. Help me? what do i do? who do i talk to? will it cost? And am I even eligible?
