Is there a way to improve transfer rates when using a bluetooth dongle?

i know it's slow, but can there be any increase in transfer rates? i am using bluetooth dongles to transfer files from one computer w/out a dvd burner, to a computer with one, so i can burn the files to disc, conserving lotsa space.
