Does a automatic honda prelude have a clutch?

i have a honda prelude 88 model.....it is really slow off the start wont drop back down the gears when going up hills or when stopping (if i put it in second manually it takes off better) some1 said its the clutch breaking off and blocking up the solenoids any ideas?
