Did Randy Quaid go insane or is he just acting that way to get out of prison?

He says there are ins that kill the stars. He says they killed David Carradine and Heath Ledger, and now he thinks they are coming after him. He calls them the Hollywood Whackers. Do you think he's really gone insane or do you think he's just faking it?
